Igor Palmin (born 1933) is the acknowledged master of Russian photography, and is known as the author of the series Artists of the Other Art, Memories of Chechen-Ingushetiya, and the Melnikov House. The celebrated book of Palmin's photographs, entitled Russian Modernist, has been printed and reprinted in France, Russia, Italy and the USA. It was with Russian Modernism that the photographer started work in architecture in 1980. There have been exhibitions of Palmin's work at the Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, and the Museum of Architecture.
